Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (or SSLV) is a launch vehicle being developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) with payload capacity of 500 kg to Low Earth orbit or 300 kg to Sun synchronous orbit for launching small satellites, with the capability to support multiple orbital drop-offs.

Mission:

Possibly prototype satellite for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)'s Satellite Based Surveillance-3 (SBS-3) program, which aims to provide better land and maritime domain awareness for civilian and military applications for the Indian government. The SBS-3 constellation will consist of up to 52 satellites in Low Earth and geostationary orbits. Safran Space of France will provide optical payloads for at least some of the satellites.
